Immortality

Mike Mulligan and his steam engine live happily in the basement of a long condemned school. He doesn't know the school closed twenty years ago. He's still there, sitting cross-legged next to his machine, reading the paper and smoking his pipe, content in the oblivion the pages have decreed for him for all eternity as long as paper exists.
